Director of warfare creation plant Osborne Industries, Norman Osborne shields a hideous secret. A failed experimentation resulted in him left clinically mentally deranged, unable to fight between the human he desires to be and the villainous monster his insane head is forcing him. Norman Osborne is the Green Goblin. For years Osborne has intimidated the areas of New York, and were it not for Spider-man's dedicated Hindrance his domination goals may well have been fruitful.
locked up in a penitentiary during the Civil War, Green Goblins Super Strength and Intelligence was called upon by the Pro-Reg team in an attempt to combat any anti-registration member fighting the Super Hero Registration Act. Along side penance, Venom and Songbird, Green Goblin was drafted to the Thunderbolts, a team of controlled villains delegated with the goal of protecting their cities during this fierce time.
Hoodwinking his country by acting fervently during this period left him as a longed successor to the Director of S.H.I.E.L.D. job when the Siege resulted in IronMan (Tony Stark, Stark and previous S.H.I.E.L.D. director) a fugitive. Americas leading counter terror and intelligence agency had a new leader. Terrifyingly, Osborne is still mentally ill!
Deranged with Power, Osborne next Rears his sights to acquiring that which he had wanted for all this time: the data on the names of all registered Heroes. Unfortunately for Goblin however the information was kept in the single place he could not attain it: inside the mind of Stark.
Knowing that Osborne would begin hunting Stark to attain the info only he knows, Iron Man introduces a program to his mind that will gradually erase the data from his mind. The highest downside being the potential death of Stark. Now on the run to maintain a distance from the leader of S.H.I.E.L.D. Tony is conscious that Norman will be studying the Armour he left with S.H.I.E.L.D. in his time as director. He however did not foresee that Goblin's intellect would give him to progress his armour for use!
Understanding that the American population wouldn't accept him as a Hero, Goblin cemented his look as a hero to the American population, by adorning his new Iron Man StarkTech the colours of their national flag. hence an concoction of two of the worlds most loved Heroes was born: The Iron Man Patriot!
Proceeding this, in the Siege run Iron man and Iron Man Patriot have their exciting fight over the back drop of New York. To avoid spoiling what is a ultimate fight we are going to stop relaying the outcome of the battle now, but we can inform you that the climax to the Dark Siege story line is awesome!
